Magnesium chips and granules

Magnesium chips, also known as magnesium turnings, and granules are produced by mechanically processing standard-purity (99.8% Mg) or high-purity (99.95% Mg) magnesium ingots. The process can be adjusted to produce magnesium chips and granules that meet different shape, size, and surface area requirements.

Product information

Magnesium chips, discoidal chip

Magnesium chips are primarily used in chemical synthesis, specifically for Grignard reagents in pharmaceutical/agrochemical production.
Shape: Irregular

Particle size distribution

  1. 25 lbs per 5-gallon steel drum
  2. 75 lbs per 15-gallon steel drum
  3. 150 lbs per 30-gallon steel drum
  4. 300 lbs per 55-gallon steel drum
  5. 300 lbs per 55-gallon fiber drum

Products are processed from primary magnesium ingot, the chemical composition of which conforms to ASTM B92-17 Grade 9980A.
